12th Annual Green Corn Project Fall Festival October 5, 2010

Every Fall, the Green Corn Project has its annual Fall Festival fund raising event at Boggy Creek Farm.  This year, the Festival is from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday October 24, 2010.  The grounds of Boggy Creek Farm will be filled with over 20 fine local restaurants serving great food, live music, provided by 4 local musical groups, and cooking demonstrations by 3 local chefs.  There is always a silent auction.   This is a great opportunity to visit Boggy Creek Farm, eat some delicious food, and support a wonderful organization.

The mission of The Green Corn Project is to educate and assist Central Texans in growing organic food gardens.  This grassroots organization is volunteer run, and installs organic food gardens for elderly, low-income and disabled community members as well as for elementary schools, community centers, and shelters in underserved areas of Austin.

This is one of my favorite events of the year.  If you have never been to Boggy Creek Farm, it located just east of downtown off of East 7th Street at 3414 Lyons Road, Austin, 78702.  Tickets to this event are just $35.00.
