Garden Surprise, Lemon Cucumbers May 23, 2010

A couple of days ago, I noticed the sad and rather dramatic wilting of the cucumbers, from lack of water.  They really do put on a pitiful showing if allowed to go too long without watering, and the leaves were practically flat on the ground.  Drama.   So, I opened up the rain barrels, gave them a good shot of water, and they perked up rather quickly.  What I noticed though, was that there are two Lemon Cucumbers, that seemingly have appeared out of no where!  And from the looks of the perked up plants, I will have a good crop of these little cuties.

I got these as transplants at Breed and Company about a month ago.  I can’t wait to try them!
