Today I wanted to eat really healthfully and locally as well.   I’m still feeling porky from the Trailer Eating frenzy from Saturday.  I just had some goat milk for breakfast, and for lunch I had the Greek Salad with Chicken at Eastside Cafe.   Eating at Eastside Cafe is just about  as local as eating from your own garden – it’s eating from theirs.   They grow tremendous amounts of produce onsite on Manor Road, and have recently acquired chickens as well, and are serving farm fresh eggs.  I have been a fan of Eastside for years, because their food is fantastic tasting, and you know that the ingredients were either grown there, or sourced as locally as possible.  The gardens on site have continued to expand over the years, and there is little space on which some kind of food crop is not planted.

Lunch

Dinner was a BLT salad with my own garden lettuce, Kocurek Family Paprika Bacon, hydroponic tomatoes from the farmer’s market, and Texas Olive Oil and Orange and White Balsamic dressing.
